About Nusatrails Indonesia
Every Trail Tells a Tale
Nusatrails Indonesia is a locally operated tour company based in Manado, North Sulawesi, dedicated to creating meaningful travel experiences through land tours, diving and snorkeling adventures, birding expeditions and tailor-made journeys. While North Sulawesi remains our primary area of expertise, we also assist travelers in exploring selected destinations throughout Indonesia upon request.
Our philosophy is simple: travel should be more than sightseeing. Every journey should leave travelers with a deeper connection to the places they visit, the people they meet and the stories they discover along the way.
The name Nusatrails combines two ideas.
NUSA refers to Nusantara, the Indonesian archipelago. It represents the many islands, landscapes, cultures, communities, and ways of life that make up Indonesia.
TRAILS represents the routes people take and the different ways they experience a destination.
Together, Nusatrails reflects the many trails of Indonesia and the many ways travelers can explore them.
A Trail may be a diving journey, a wildlife expedition, a cultural route, an island escape, a road trip through the highlands, or a combination of several experiences. The destination is important, but the way you experience it matters just as much.

Our backgrounds are different, but we share the same approach to travel. We know the importance of practical preparation, local knowledge, clear communication, and personal attention.
Dony Pulumoduyo
Director and Administration
Donny has more than a decade of experience in the tourism industry, including years of working and living in Bali. After spending much of his professional life there, he returned to his hometown, Manado, and started Nusatrails together with Stenly Mamengko.
As Director, Donny oversees the company’s administration and supports the organization of the business behind each journey. He has a relaxed and easygoing personality, but he pays close attention to details that help keep operations organized.
Stenly Mamengko
Operational Manager
Stenly began his career in the tourism industry in North Sulawesi in the 1990s, mainly working as a tour guide. He later gained extensive experience with a foreign-owned diving center on Bunaken Island. This gave him a strong understanding of marine tourism, guest service, field operations, and the practical demands of arranging trips in North Sulawesi.
Stenly is also a professional photographer specializing in resort and hotel photography. He continues to work on photography projects with his son, Rangga. At Nusatrails, he manages tour operations, itinerary planning, field coordination, and guest arrangements. He is outgoing, knowledgeable, and comfortable working with travelers from different backgrounds.

Born and Based in North Sulawesi
North Sulawesi is where Nusatrails begins and where our strongest destination knowledge is rooted.
From our base in Manado, we are connected to a region where coral reefs, volcanic landscapes, rainforest, islands, highlands, wildlife habitats, and local traditions come together within a relatively compact part of Indonesia.
The region offers many different ways to travel:

Nusatrails was created around a simple idea: travel should be about the experience, not simply the destination.
A place becomes more meaningful when you have time to understand it. That may happen while exploring a rainforest, sharing a meal with local people, spending a day on the water, walking through a village, watching wildlife, or taking a slower route through the countryside.
We help travelers experience these different sides of Indonesia through private trips, small-group journeys, Standard Trails, and customized travel arrangements.
North Sulawesi is our home base and strongest area of local knowledge. We also help arrange selected journeys to other parts of Indonesia through careful planning and trusted local connections.

“Nusa” reflects Nusantara, the Indonesian archipelago—a country made up of many islands, cultures, landscapes, communities, and ways of life.
“Trails” represents the routes we follow, the places we explore, and the many different ways a traveler can experience a destination.
Together, Nusatrails expresses our belief that Indonesia is not one single travel experience. It is a collection of many trails, each offering something different.
